Research<\/strong><\/h3>

Dr. Aldredge is a Professor in the department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at UC Davis. He performs research and advises graduate students in the areas of combustion, fluid dynamics and bio-transport, with a focus on bio-fluid dynamics (vascular blood flow) and on front propagation both in biological tissue (avascular-tumor dynamics) and in reacting gaseous mixtures (flame propagation). He has developed computational algorithms and software for simulation and analysis of flame propagation, including an iPhone\/iPad application (the\u00a0Level-Set app<\/a>).<\/p>

Leadership<\/strong><\/h3>

Dr. Aldredge\u00a0serves as Executive Associate Dean, Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies, and Associate Dean for Facilities and Capital Planning for the College of Engineering at UC Davis.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

As Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies, Dr. Aldredge provides leadership and oversight for undergraduate enrollment management, orientation and yield efforts, transfer student admissions, academic advising and intervention, retention programs, the Student Start-up Center, ABET degree-program accreditation, assessment training for faculty, and strategic efforts to improve the undergraduate engineering experience.\u00a0<\/p>

As Associate Dean for Facilities and Capital Planning, Dr. Aldredge provides leadership and oversight of facilities management and safety compliance as well as strategic planning for capital projects supporting college operations, programs and priorities. He serves as the point of contact for faculty and senior campus administrators, representing the academic interests of the college related to space renovation, new construction and capital planning.<\/p>

Prior to these administrative roles, Dr. Aldredge has served in numerous undergraduate and graduate leadership and advocacy settings\u2014including as Faculty Assistant to the Dean, Chair of the UC Davis Committee on Admissions and Enrollment and Chair of the system-wide Board of Admissions and Relations with Schools (BOARS)\u2014and played leading roles in designing the system-wide and UC Davis holistic-review undergraduate-admissions policies practiced widely today.\u00a0<\/p>
