Professor Ghiasi’s research activities focus on design methods for embedded computing systems with a focus on streaming and data analytic workloads, such as signal processing, computer vision and machine learning. Specific topics of contribution include: Static and dynamic management of computing system resources; system-level design automation; reconfigurable architectures and combinatorial algorithm design for embedded applications. The research area offers an interesting blend of theory and practice, and finds applications in many disciplines ranging from medicine and agriculture to cyber-security and defense.
