Research Focus<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Professor Katehi is an expert in the areas of development and characterization (theoretical and experimental) of microwave, millime\u00adter printed circuits; the computer-aided design of VLSI interconnects; the development and characterization of micro-machined circuits for microwave, millimeter-wave and sub-\u00admillimeter-wave applications including MEMS switches, high-Q evanescent mode filters and MEMS devices for circuit <\/span>re-configurability; the development of low-loss lines for sub-millimeter-wave and terahertz frequency applications; theoretical and experimental study of unipla\u00adnar circuits for hybrid-monolithic and monolithic oscillator, amplifier and mixer applica\u00adtions; theoretical and experimental characterization of photonic band-gap materials<\/span>.<\/h3>\n

Professor Katehi is passionate about empowering women, particularly in <\/span>STEM, to succeed. As part of these efforts, Dr. Katehi helped launch\u00a0<\/span>\u201cOur Voices<\/a>,\u201d a resource for women in STEM in academia, seeks to develop a stronger advocacy network to celebrate diverse experiences, share stories, offer advice, provide support and advocacy with the ultimate goal of empowering and teaching the next generation of female students, scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs and community leaders.<\/span><\/h3>\n
