{"id":268,"date":"2016-05-13T19:12:07","date_gmt":"2016-05-13T19:12:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/faculty.engineering.ucdavis.edu\/knoesen\/?page_id=268"},"modified":"2016-05-13T19:40:32","modified_gmt":"2016-05-13T19:40:32","slug":"ee-emerge","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/faculty.engineering.ucdavis.edu\/knoesen\/ee-emerge\/","title":{"rendered":"EE-Emerge"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>EE-Emerge<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>EE-Emerge focuses on ECE students in their junior year, in particular URM and first-generation<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To engages the students during their junior year in hands-on electronics projects.<\/li>\n<li>To hone their a communication skills<\/li>\n<li>To develop their interpersonal skills necessary to work design teams<\/li>\n<li>To prepare the students with necessary skills for their senior design projects<\/li>\n<li>To establish a culture among students of \u201cworking together\u201d and \u201cpeer advising\u201d \u2013 i.e. students from the program in their senior year, help the next group of junior students<\/li>\n<li>To engage the students in a lifelong process to promote engineering to specifically underrepresented groups<\/li>\n<li>And finally, to identify high achieving students to industrial sponsors for internships and career opportunities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Professor Knoesen started EE-Emerge in 2011.
