These materials form an active field of research due to their emerging applications in next generation energy-efficient computing. We perform <em>in-situ<\/em> studies of quantum materials to monitor the evolution of functional (electronic, optical and magnetic) properties following application of voltage, temperature or laser. Specifically, laser excitation provides us with a unique way to manipulate functional properties at femtosecond-picosecond timescales.
