His efforts have contributed significantly to the department\u2019s undergraduate curriculum development and accreditation activities.<\/p>\n<p>He was a founder and long-term primary instructor for the <em>BME Senior Design <\/em>series, mentoring &gt;150 student teams through the design process on projects spanning clinical\/ translational\/ veterinary medicine, point-of-care technologies, disabilities, and global health.<\/p>\n<p>He was program faculty on two iterations of an NIBIB award that supported translational design and innovation and, as Vice Chair (2015-2018), he led efforts to enhance design and skills-building activities throughout the curriculum.<\/p>\n<p>His recent contributions have included the development of the senior level <em>Introduction to Rapid Prototyping<\/em> course and a redesigning of the sophomore level <em>Engineering Graphics\/ CAD<\/em> course.<\/p>\n<p>His graduate course, <em>Mechanobiology in Health and Disease<\/em>, aligns with his primary research interests.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Teaching interests: Medical device design, CAD, prototyping, mechanobiology Dr. Passerini has a strong interest in mentoring students at the interface of engineering and translational medicine.
