Research:<\/strong> Professor Lee’s research interests primarily lie in the fields of aerodynamics, aeroacoustics, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD). His research has a broad application range, including fixed-wing aircraft, rotorcraft, wind energy, aircraft engines, and turbomachinery. <\/span>Before joining UC Davis, Professor Lee spent five years working at the GE Global Research Center in New York.<\/span><\/p>\n

Currently, students at the<\/span> Computational Flow Physics and Aeroacoustics (CFPA) Lab<\/b><\/span> are working on a range of exciting projects, including rotorcraft CFD and aeroacoustics, rotor broadband noise predictions, dynamic stall, trailing edge noise, and computational aeroacoustics. <\/span>To learn more about our lab’s research, please visit our website. <\/a><\/p>\n

In addition to his research and teaching activities, Professor Lee also serves as a founding faculty advisor for the Vertical Flight Society (VFS) UC Davis Student Chapter<\/b> and a faculty advisor for the ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) undergraduate club at UC Davis<\/a>.<\/p>\n

  1. April, 2026:<\/b> Huy Tran and Esther Kung were selected as recipients of Vertical Flight Foundation (VFF) scholarship.<\/a><\/li>
  2. February, 2026:<\/b> Prof. Lee joined the Journal of the American Helicopter Society (JAHS) as an Associate Editor.<\/a><\/li>\n
  3. January, 2026:<\/b> Our lab work has been featured in Aerospace American The Year in Review. <\/a> <\/li>\n
  4. December, 2025:<\/b> Our lab research has been featured in UC Davis College of Engineering magazine. <\/a><\/li>\n
  5. October, 2025:<\/b> Prof. Lee offered a special seminar lecture series on rotorcraft and propeller aerodynamics and aeroacoustics at POSTECH. <\/a><\/li>\n
  6. October, 2025:<\/b> We have received a new three-year research grant from National Research Foundation of Korea for UAM noise research.<\/a> <\/li>\n
