Hudson Shih is chosen as the Inaugural Recipient of the Amiya Mukherjee Memorial Fellowship<\/h4><p>Congratulations to Hudson Shih for being selected as the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mse.engineering.ucdavis.edu\/news\/hudson-shih-mukherjee-fellowship\">inaugural recipient of the Amiya Mukherjee Memorial Fellowship<\/a>. This fellowship was created last year with a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mse.engineering.ucdavis.edu\/news\/alumni-robert-carolyn-caligiuri-establish-professor-amiya-mukherjee-memorial-fellowship\">generous gift from Bob and Carolyn Caligiuri<\/a>\u00a0to honor the legacy of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mse.engineering.ucdavis.edu\/news\/memoriam-dr-amiya-mukherjee\">Prof. Emeritus Amiya Mukherjee<\/a>\u00a0who is known as the father of the UC Davis Materials Science and Engineering program, and inspired many generations of engineers to pursue the field.<\/p><p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/faculty.engineering.ucdavis.edu\/takamura\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/35\/2023\/11\/Bob-Caligiuri-and-Hudson-Shih.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p><h4>November 2023: Professor Takamura visits the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile<\/h4><p>Prof. Takamura will visit Prof. Heman Bhuyan from the Faculty of Physics at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile to establish research collaborations between our two groups. She will present a talk entitled \u201cAdventures with Perovskite Oxide Heterostructures and Nanostructures\u201d on Thursday, Nov. 23rd.<\/p><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/faculty.engineering.ucdavis.edu\/takamura\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/35\/2023\/11\/Chile-Seminar-Flyer-741x1024.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"741\" height=\"1024\" \/>.<\/p><h4>November 2023: 2023 Magnetism and Magnetic Materials Conference<\/h4><p>Ishman Nihal, Mingzhen Feng, and Prof. Takamura gave oral presentations at the 2023 Magnetism and Magnetic Materials Conference in Dallas, TX.\u00a0 Ishman presented a talk entitled \u201cSpin-flop Coupling at La<sub>0.5<\/sub>Sr<sub>0.5<\/sub>FeO<sub>3<\/sub>\/La<sub>0.7<\/sub>Sr<sub>0.3<\/sub>MnO<sub>3<\/sub>\u00a0Interfaces\u201d, while Mingzhen\u2019s talk is entitled \u201cTuning In-plane Magnetic Anisotropy and Exchange Bias in Epitaxial Complex Oxide Heterostructures\u201d, both in session AE \u2013 Complex oxides (Bulk, Films and Heterostructures) on Tuesday morning. Prof. Takamura\u2019s talk is entitled \u201cTailoring Ferromagnetic and Antiferromagnetic Spin Textures in Nanostructured Complex Oxides\u201d which will be part of the symposium FA, Imaging Magnetic Textures at the Nanoscale on Thursday afternoon.
