PM4Sand: A Sand Plasticity Model for Earthquake Engineering Applications

  • The sand plasticity model, PM4Sand, by Boulanger and Ziotopoulou has been implemented as a dynamic link library (DLL) for use with the commercial program FLAC 8.1 (Itasca 2016). The manual and DLL are available here.
  • PM4Sand was developed for representing sands and other purely nonplastic granular soils in geotechnical earthquake engineering applications.
  • The PM4Sand website includes:
    • Dynamic Link Libraries (dll) PM4Sand Version 2.0, Version 3.0 (modelpm4s003.dll compatible with FLAC 7.0, modelpm4sand005.dll compatible with FLAC 8.0), and Version 3.1 (modelpm4sand005_64.dll compatible with FLAC 8.1)
    • Example drivers for single element calibration
    • Reports on formulation and implementation
    • Syntax files for FLAC in Notepad++ and (soon) for Sublime

PM4Silt: A Silt Plasticity Model for Earthquake Engineering Applications

  • The silt plasticity model, PM4Silt, by Boulanger and Ziotopoulou has been implemented as a dynamic link library (DLL) for use with the commercial program FLAC 8.1 (Itasca 2016). The manual and DLL are available here.
  • PM4Silt was developed for representing plastic silts and clays that exhibit stress-history normalized behaviors in geotechnical earthquake engineering applications.
  • The PM4Silt website includes:
    • Dynamic Link Library (dll) PM4Silt Version 1.0 (modelpm4silt005_64.dll compatible with FLAC 8.1)
    • Example drivers for single element calibration
    • Report on formulation and implementation
