Biography

Vojin G. Oklobdzija,  IEEE Life Fellow, President of IEEE Circuits and Systems Society and IEEE Technical Advisory Board Member, 2014-2016. Served as Distinguished Lecturer of both, the IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society and Circuits and Systems Society. Dipl. Ing. degree, School of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade 1971, Ph.D. University of California at Los Angeles 1982.

1982-1991 Research Staff Member of IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center. Contributions to RISC processors, super-scalar and supercomputer design. Several cited patents: register renaming, which enabled modern computers.

1988-1990, IBM faculty member at the University of California at Berkeley, 1991-2006 professor at the UC Davis, Distinguished Visiting Professor, Korea IT Assessment Program, 2003, EPFL, Switzerland, 2004, Sydney University.

Consultant to: Sun Microsystems, Bell Laboratories, Texas Instruments, Hitachi, Fujitsu, SONY, Intel, Samsung and Siemens Corp.

Serving on the Editorial Board of IEEE MICRO, Journal of Low Power Electronics, and publishing board of Taylor-Francis.

Served as the AE of IEEE Transaction on Computers 2000-2006, IEEE TVLSI 1995-2003, IEEE TCAS II, Journal of VLSI Signal Processing. Technical Program Chair (2008) General Chair for the International Symposium on Low-Power Design (2010), General Chair for the International Symposium on Computer Arithmetic: ARITH-20 (2011) and ARITH-13 (1997). General Chair for DCAS-2008 and IASTED Conference on Circuits, Signals and Systems (2006), ISSCC program committee from 1996 to 2003, 2007, First Asian ASSCC, ICCD, PATMOS and numerous other conference committees.

Holds 15 U.S.A. patents, published 180 refereed papers, 6 books, dozens of book chapters on circuits and technology, computer arithmetic and computer architecture.

Prof. Oklobdzija has provided litigation consulting and expert witness services including testifying at the International Trade Commission Court, and civil court. He consulted for to major legal firms including: Townsend and TownsendFarella Braun + Martel LLPOtteson Law Group of Agility IP Law, LLPWolf Greenfield and Sacks P.CDLA PiperDechert LLP, Arent FoxKellogg HuberBLB&G. and others.
