Broader impact from this research will also come through many educational opportunities enabled through this research. All PIs are committed to providing opportunities in STEM to K-12, women and under-represented minorities by utilizing the resources they have been building in the past years and have a good track record in this regard. For promoting STEM K-12, PI Zhang has supervised Steven Zeng, a senior at Halmilton high school in Chandler, AZ, on a project related to edge intelligence. PI Dasarathy has supervised Charles Zhang on the development of data science techniques for evaluating the efficacy of policy implementations during the COVID-19 pandemic. Mr. Zhang won second place in the Senior Mathematics division at the Arizona Science and Engineering Fair (AZSEF), the state science fair of Arizona.
